Earlier this month electro legends Kraftwerk made an appearance at the Manchester Velodrome in UK for a live show. During their famous tune "Tour De France" they had a few Olympic Gold Cyclists take the track. How rad is that?

The Bakehouse was thee spot in metropolitan Miami-Dade to paint during the early 80's. It sits right on the outskirts of Wynwood/Overtown, which used to be a real rough part of town back in those times, unlike now. Dude's like Seam, Dash, Vice, Dekay, Sneek, Mega, Solo, as well as many others used to own those walls. The entire structure was visible from I-95 and I will always remember driving by as a kid, wanting to paint too. It definitely inspired me to start writing and get involved in graff. And to many other writers from those times, The Bakehouse was a major turning point in the 80's Miami graff scene. Check out a small piece I wrote for miamigraffiti.com regarding it's history and legacy here.

The art world has suffered a huge loss this week. NYC's Dash Snow was found dead in a lower Manhattan hotel on Monday night. He apparently died of a drug overdose and was only 27 years old. I've written about him on here before as I'm a huge fan of his work and all the unique projects he managed to conjure up. He will be deeply missed and always remembered as the king of IRAK crew. Here's a video of Led Zeppelin's classic "Going To California" performed live @ Earl's Court in London during the great year that was 1975. It's from their DVD. This is real music at it's finest. Poetic tales, beautiful acoustic string arrangements, along with a solid composition of folk-style sound make this an endless classic. Here's to better times & even better music!

The gods that are the Deftones have spoken and finally come clean regarding their upcoming album 'Eros'. Just as I predicted in my last blog post, 'Eros' will be put on hold for now as they stated on their website last week that they "realized this record doesn’t best encompass and represent who we are currently as people and as musicians." They went on to say that eventually the album "will see the light of day at some point, we collectively made the decision that we needed to take a new approach, and with Chi’s condition heavy on our minds while doing so." Basically they're saying what I told you guys a few weeks back. So now they are working on a new album that they claim will be their best recorded material ever, or at least they're striving for that. "We needed to return to the studio to do what we felt was right artistically. Our inspiration and unity as a band is stronger than it has ever been before and we needed to channel that energy into our music, and deliver to our fans what you rightly deserve: the best Deftones record that we can make." The boys got to do what they got to do and if they feel they need to change direction a little, I'm totally with that. I've waited long enough for this, what's another few extra months. I'm sure it will be well worth it...it always is without a doubt. For more information or to send some support to their bassist Chi, click here. Check out some recent shots from their studio below.
