Quick Pickup

I just can't get enough of New York's BodaBoda crew and their dope video's. Clean edits, great music, raw footage, and most of all fast riding through NYC streets. As I was browsing their Vimeo channel, I came across this awesome video titled "Quick Pickup". If you've ever wondered how it looks like from a NYC messengers point of view with a rear mounted camera, whilst on a 3x rush pickup, then check this viddy out!

All In Relative Time

I rarely post BMX videos on here, not that I dis-like them, but I'm more into road & track bikes that I really don't care too much for those types of videos. However, this one definitely had to be posted since it's put together very well and is filmed throughout Miami, they even ride right by my building that I live in. And even though I tend to have my doubts at times about this city, this piece really showcases the many wonderful things "the magic city" has to offer. Created by Dillon Hearns for Atmosphere Bikes, they supposedly went through several "broken tripods, defective batteries, flat tires, time schedules, missing school to film, last minute changes, and other issues" to get this done. The end result was well worth it, great work guys!

It's Groundhog Daaay!

Frigid Fury

I absolutely love videos of riders mashing through city streets, especially good old NYC. Just last week, New York's BodaBoda crew put together this terrific video, filmed throughout the city with solid footage of riding in the dreary winter of the north, and what a winter it's been! I tell you, ever since I started riding I've really learned to appreciate the beautiful south and the weather it offers year round. In other words, I don't miss all that slush and snow one bit!

Vintage Irak

In such a drab world, a person with character goes a long way. It's something you see less and less of these days unfortunately. But back when New York was somewhat affordable, not so long ago I might add, there lived a crew that ruled the streets and these dudes we're definitely filled with character! That crew was Irak and they set the pace for what was and what will be without even knowing it. See below why things are so different now than they were before.

Twelve Ounce Prophet x Futura

Tomorrow, Twelve Ounce Prophet will drop their long awaited collaboration with legendary street artist Futura 2000. Broadway Bombing 2010

I can't get enough of Crihs' videos. The footage is always edited with care and quality, contain great music and most importantly, they always make me want to get out there and ride! Not to mention the Go-Pro cams he frequently uses which makes things feel as if it's you out there pedaling your life away.

Check out this quick, five minute edit Crihs made of the annual Bombing Broadway race which runs all the way down Broadway from uptown to downtown. Plenty of skitching going on, near misses and tight spots. Serious stuff, see for yourself below.

This Is Overtown

Overtown Miami is one of the oldest, yet poorest neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County. Incorporated in 1896, famous developer Henry Flagler's railroad workers took refuge in this part of town since segregation during those times prevented blacks from living anywhere else, therefore the workers lived west of the railroad tracks and the town became known as "colored town".

These days, Overtown is still predominantly black and is one of the roughest, crime ridden areas in Florida. I happen to live just one block east of those railroad tracks that separate Overtown from the rest of Downtown Miami and let me tell you, it's an entirely different world and way of living. Check out this short, solid video below produced by photojournalist Stretch Ledford, which provides a detailed insight into the urban-underbelly of Miami. It's filmed using Cannon 5D's so the quality is superior. Great work!

It's Your Ride

Check out this solid short film by Daniel Leeb of Cinecyle Productions out of Brooklyn. It's basically a promo spot for Hutchinson tires as it was commissioned by them and it features some beautiful riding shots in the city and also has some great music as well. I love the attention to detail used in the making of this video which is what makes it so unique.

Film producer Daniel Leeb breaks it down for you;

"The film spins a visual ballad between two cyclists experiencing the city in their own unique ways. Both cyclists are city dwellers who amidst the chaos of the concrete jungle have created a private and peaceful psychological space as they traverse the streets. They are both alone and yet they are both very much aware of each others presence. The film speaks to the harmony with one's environment that can be found while riding a bicycle in a city and the synchronistic connection we can have with those we have not even met."

Chas for Mash SF

Here is some short but sweet footage of Chas from Mash tearing up San Francisco's streets on his Cinelli. It's a promo shoot for Vittoria tires, which I love using and always recommend to anyone that ever asks me about cycling tires. Check it out below.

Eat Here Not There

'Eat Here Not There' is DQM's first skate video. The Bowery skate shop made a promo video introducing their new skate team and since DQM store owner Dave used to skate for Zoo York, it has the same feel as some of their videos with quality footage of NYC's most well known skate spots and skaters. Filmed during last spring/summer, they managed to produce a real nice end result. DQM sums it all up for you below;

Beer Snob 2: Re-cap

Good times were had this past Saturday at part 2 of the famous Beer Snob pub crawl. Over 100 cyclists came out to have a beer with friends and meet new ones. The weather was perfect with pure sun and easterly ocean breezes, especially on the beach. Can't wait for the next one! Check out this great video of Saturday's ride below. Race Against Time Alleycat NYC 2010

Here is another alleycat that took place this summer in NYC filmed by the one and only Crihs. I just love the way he films these races with his mounted Go-Pro cam. It puts you right in the perspective of the rider and shows whats smack in front of you. This particular race was held during the 10th anniversary of the Bicycle Film Festival and it's course ran all the way through the gritty NYC streets. Check out how intense it was below. The Climb

South Florida's highest bridge is the William Powell which connects Miami to Key Biscayne via the Rickenbacker Causeway. It stretches over a mile long, reaches 75 feet high and is one hell of a climb on a bicycle, let alone on a fixed gear. I've done it countless times and it always puts you in your place with it's furious never-ending ascend to the sky. The key is to not look up and just keep pushing. Take a look below at my boy Luke leading the way during a beautiful Miami eve this past week.

Rumble Through The Bronx

Rumble Through The Bronx is an annual alleycat race that takes place each summer during the steamy month of July. Riders race throughout the Bronx and stop at various checkpoints to get their manifests signed, ending at the beautiful Pelham Bay park. The video below was filmed during last weeks race by MonsterTrack winner Crihs with a mounted Go-Pro cam. Looks quite amazing and really captures the feel of being behind those handlebars. But for one reason or another, lately NYC alleycats have been known to end a little sour. The ending of this video will clarify what I'm talking about.

This is a great ad for the timepiece we all know and love, the Casio G-Shock, which is known to take a serious beating even from a tried and true NYC bike messenger like "Krillz". He's got a great blog that you should definitely check out too!

Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is the long awaited follow up to Read Dead Revolver both produced by Rockstar Games, creators of legendary titles such as Grand Theft Auto and Midnight Club. Production for this game took Rockstar over 6 years, and after title changes, setbacks on release dates, and just straight-up long delays, the game has finally arrived as of yesterday.

It takes place in the great western American frontier during 1911. John Marston is an ex-criminal and was part of a tightly knit crime organization during his younger outlaw days. Marston settles down and raises a family and leaves the outlaw way of life for another time. During a time when there was lawlessness all across the land, the Federal Government was trying to implement their ways and new laws. The only person they knew that could do justice for them was John Marston, since he himself was a pure outlaw and former member of one of the largest posse's in the west. John is reformed now and does not want any part in helping the fed's, until they kidnap his wife and children. Marston is sent across the plains to help bring the rule of the new law. He must kill and capture all of his former gang members and leader or his family will pay the ultimate price.

The game play is just like Grand Theft Auto, which means you can roam anywhere, interact with anything, and take on other smaller missions. You can go shopping, hunting, gambling, drinking, barter shit, etc. It's supposedly the most advanced game yet, as far as open world environment titles go.
