Pre-Miami Craze

The Bakehouse was thee spot in metropolitan Miami-Dade to paint during the early 80's. It sits right on the outskirts of Wynwood/Overtown, which used to be a real rough part of town back in those times, unlike now. Dude's like Seam, Dash, Vice, Dekay, Sneek, Mega, Solo, as well as many others used to own those walls. The entire structure was visible from I-95 and I will always remember driving by as a kid, wanting to paint too. It definitely inspired me to start writing and get involved in graff. And to many other writers from those times, The Bakehouse was a major turning point in the 80's Miami graff scene. Check out a small piece I wrote for miamigraffiti.com regarding it's history and legacy here.
