Fuck It Fridays: Monster Magnet - Bummer
It's been a long minute since I've done a 'Fuck It Friday' and since the weekend is finally here it's only proper that I finally deliver! Here we have the definition of sex, drugs and rock n' roll, the great Monster Magnet. These boys from Jersey know how to bring on the good times with their smoked out sounds and catchy riffs, perfect for the long summer days ahead. "Bummer" is an excellent blend of spaced out rock and hard hitting sludge metal with vocalist Dave Wyndorf providing the cherry on top. I can listen to this track over & over and it just gets better with each listen, definitely one of my favorite MM tracks of all time.

Fuck It Fridays: Joy Division - Shadowplay
The great Joy Division were easily one of the most influential bands of our time. What was once a post-punk outfit, then later becoming nu-wave legends New Order due to the death of former front-man Ian Curtis, they have chartered all territories and opened up new genres along the way. This particular track "Shadowplay" off their debut album 'Unknown Pleasures' has always brought a sense of security to me each time I hear it...It's hard to explain but once that deep brooding bass starts at the intro, you know everything's going to be alright, even through the darkest of days.
Ian Curtis R.I.P.

Fuck It Fridays: Craft - Fuck The Universe
It's Friday and you know what that means! For this Fuck It Friday we have 'Craft' delivering spine chilling black metal the way it should be. Inspired by early black metal acts such as Burzum and Dark Throne, they've definitely created a sound of their own after 3 releases. Pumping drums, dark atmospherics and ghastly vocals make this one helluva track. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

Fuck It Fridays: Dozer - Born a legend
Friday afternoon has arrived and being that it's a long weekend, now is the proper time for one of my 'Fuck It Fridays'. This time around we have stoner-metal gods Dozer kicking down the door with their classic "Born a legend". These swedes are on point when it comes to songwriting and lack nothing when it comes to a genuine sound. Raging vocals, complex guitars, along with rolling drums and plenty of bad-assery make this track fucking irresistible and addictive to the core. Crank it loud!

Fuck It Fridays: Monuments - Admit Defeat
Since this is probably the last Fuck It Friday of the year, I wanted to go out with something new and fresh. Monuments are a UK progressive metal outfit that have been ripping shit up as of late in Europe. Just recently formed, they don't even have a full length release yet. "Admit Defeat" is one of their first singles out there, and has gained huge success overseas as well on the net with sites such as Last.fm and Youtube. You know these guys are onto something after listening to this hell of a track. Loaded with 8-string riffs, bashing beats and unparalleled energy, this is a perfect song to end the year with...turn it loud!

Fuck It Fridays: Mastodon - Hearts Alive
It's Friday afternoon, the weather is a beautiful 50 degrees, and I'm ready for the weekend! Starting it off, we have US metal legends Mastodon with total epicness on the track "Hearts Alive". Clocking in just over 13 minutes, it delivers ass kicking riffs, dense rhythms and complex textures. Released off their classic concept album "Leviathan" in 2004, this has to be my personal favorite title. Pure raw sludge metal is the best way to describe this band and this song is a perfect example of the Mastodon sound. Be sure to lend them an ear!

Fuck It Fridays: Fellsilent - Immerse
It's Fuck It Friday time and I'm delivering some more UK experimental/progressive metal. This time we have Fellsilent, possessing a technical polyrhythmic style of music, these boys are relentless. The track "Immerse" packs one hell of a punch and is one of my favorites off their debut album, 'The Hidden Words' which came out in 2008. Sadly, they broke up in April 2010 before they can make another album and are now doing separate projects, such as TesseracT. Give em' a listen!

Fuck It Fridays: TesseracT - Deception (Concealing Fate Pt.2)
This Fuck It Friday belongs to UK's TesseracT. This band is one of the most promising new acts to emerge within the progressive/math metal genre. You might have not heard of them yet as they just released their first official studio EP, 'Concealing fate', but I promise you will in the near future. TesseracT delivers a strong, progressive sound not seen since the days of Tool or Meshugga, and have developed themselves into one of the most intricate metal acts abroad.
Every once and a while an energy emerges that changes the future and the shape of everything moving forward. Find out for yourself why TesseracT is that energy.

Fuck It Fridays: Dozer - Rising
For this Fuck It Friday we have Swedish rockers Dozer coming correct with their banger "Rising". Their music sounds complex, yet with a simple approach. When it comes to stoner/doom metal these guys are the perfect recipe with their rolling drums, heavy guitars and an always prominent progression. The sound they create is raw, original and full of fury, check it out yourself! It's too bad they've been on a brief hiatus as of late, but isn't that the case with any good band?!

Fuck It Fridays: Slayer - Playing With Dolls
From time to time you are going to start to see Fuck It Friday posts. Although not every week like my Archival Thursdays, I will still try to update at least twice a month. Call it corny if you will, but in my opinion it's a great way to prepare for the weekend with some kick ass music.
Starting off this Fuck It Friday we have metal gods Slayer breaking it down with their track "Playing with dolls" off their wonderful new album 'World Painted Blood' which was produced by none other than Rick Rubin. Turn it up, bang your head and make it a kick ass weekend!

The Sword - Black River
Getaway day is upon us and what better way to bring in the long weekend with some proper doom metal. The Sword is the perfect antidote, coming at you with riffing guitars, endless drum cadences and stern vocals that make this one serious outfit! "Black river" is the perfect blend for this dark, rainy afternoon here in Miami, heading into the last days of summer or the perfect storm.
